Rise Up and Rule

They’ll drag you down, call you names
Push you in an abyss and strongly claim
You’re not good enough for anything you do
Rise up woman, like a flame
Burn their verdicts, let them see
Just what a miracle you can be!

They’ll be mean, cold as ice
While they squeeze your sweat and blood
And make you think it’s what you’re worth
Rise up woman, cause a flood
Wash them away, with your waves
Just let them know you’re not their slave!

They’ll be bullies, and torment you
Crush your confidence, strangle your soul
They’ll make you doubt your able self
Rise up woman, from the deep hole
Shatter those ceilings, just show them now
It’s time for you to take the vow!

They’ll oppress you, when you rise
And pull you down each time you try
That’s just not how it’s meant to be
Rise up woman, make your stride
For every time they tug or pull
Be sure to show them, you’re here to rule!
